Life in Technicolor part deux...

I'm digging the new video for Coldplay's, Life in Technicolor II. Which is basically Life in Technicolor from their latest album "Viva la Vida" finally set to words. The original was initially just an instrumental intro for the album. I'm liking the creepy Mr. Roger's-esque puppetry. If the "Neighborhood of Make-Believe" put on shows like this maybe I would've watched it more.

Its the weekend!

Hello everybody. Its Friday so what better day to inform you of some giveaways going on in blogland?

I've been following softspoken on her blog for awhile now. I love looking at her outfits for inspiration. Plus, her craftiness with a crochet needle is pretty impressive too. Oh! How lovely! has featured softspoken on her blog for a giveaway, so hop on over for a chance to win silly!

ALSO...I have been kicking my own personal physical fitness into high gear lately. I did my first Hip Hop Hustle class at my local rec center on Wednesday and oh man it was so fun! If you ladies have something like it available wherever you are, I highly recommend it. Especially if you have a hard time committing to working out. Its a lot of fun, almost like a dance class. So, I was quite excited to see this fitness inspired Yoplait giveaway at Monkey Giggles. Check it out for a chance to win.

My daughter, Carmen and I are going to our first hockey game this Saturday! The Norfolk Admirals are our local minor professional hockey team here in Hampton Roads. The game this Saturday helps raise money for Cystic Fibrosis. So, if you are in the area you should come and support both the Admirals and research for Cystic Fibrosis. I hope everyone has fun with whatever they have planned this weekend :)

Lovely things...

As promised, I wanted to share the Valentine's goodies the boyfriend and I got. For him I got two things that were on his Kaboodle list. (Kaboodles are amazing btw. If you don't have one, go get one. It takes all the guess work out of gift buying. Check out mine...they are pretty addicting). So, I got him the latest Rise Against CD: Appeal to Reason and Season 1 of the Flight of the Conchords. Along with some dress socks, white tees and bball shorts. You know essentials that every boy needs but never buys :P

From him, he got me my favorite food combination of fruit and chocolate from Edible Arrangements. They make crazy amazing fruit arrangements but I usually just request the assortment of fruit dipped in the yummiest dark chocolate. Pictured here are chocolate dipped strawberries, green apples, and orange slices. Uhhhh...apples are my most favorite in the world. I love them with cheese, but chocolate is definitely the champ. A box of fresh fruit dipped in chocolate beats those run of the mill candy-heart boxes and day. Plus its more nutritious for you! So you can eat the whole box and not feel as bad :P

I got a wonderful bouquet of Tulips (also my fave) and two new DS games for my newly inherited DS, Animal Crossing & Crosswords (I love Crossword puzzles). Its inherited because it used to belong to the boyfriend but I started playing it while he would play his PS3. I realize him "giving" me his DS out of thoughtfulness was all a ruse so he didn't feel guilty while he played his PS3 for hours...boys :P

All you need is love...and a tie.

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day with your loved ones! My Valentine plans thankfully went off pretty smoothly AND we really didn't end up spending much. The boyfriend and I had dinner and a movie. We were smart and saved up our gift certificates we got over the holidays. We got a P.F. Changs gift card from his Mom and a movie gift card from mine. So thanks Moms!

I was a little worried about dinner because we called 2 weeks in advance and we were told the only reservations left open were for 3pm. And there was no way I was eating that early. So, we decided to just get there before the dinner rush and wait until something opened up. Ironically, we ended up leaving for dinner around 3pm anyway. Once we got there it was a 2.5 hour wait?! But thank goodness the manager was at the hostess station and he informed us that the bar was open for seating and he personally escorted us over to a nice, uncrowded section of the bar. I tried to convince my boyfriend that the manager was so helpful because he (my boyfriend) listened to me and wore a tie. People seem more important if you dress important. Hey, I don't make up the rules, I just follow them.

I'll post about our gifts later in the week...didn't want to make this post too
long ;)

Buttons and Bows

I've been all about cute, dainty bows lately. So I was a very happy camper when I stumbled upon these beauties all on sale at Claire's. Gotta love their 10 for $10 sales! Sometimes their clearance items are a bit lack lustre but I was very happy with my many new pins, brooches, and headbands gloriously adorned with bows. The button earrings were just too cute to pass up too...I mean a dollar c'mon! They remind me of Coraline, which I have yet to see. And I have yet to buttonize myself at the Coraline website. I don't have any somber looking pictures of me. It just isn't the same to have creepy button eyes and a huge teethy smile. Not the same.

I finally took the plunge and decided I'm going to start my own blog. I've actually been pining over it for awhile now, but I never really felt like I had much to say until now I guess? I spent too many days in envy over the wonderful things I'd see in blogland, so I decided I am going to stop living my life vicariously through all these other wonderful blogs and just do it! Hopefully, one day I'll be in the ranks with all the other inspirational bloggers I admire and adore :) So thanks to all you who have paved the way haha...I hope you have room for one more!
